As a golf newbie, the term "GIR" was introduced to me during a casual round with a few hometown friends from Pittsburgh. After a little research, I learned the quickest way to improve your golf score is to improve your GIR (Greens In Regulation) %. This made perfect sense! As a staunch advocate for the underserved and an HBCU alum, statistics also reveal the higher your education level, the better your opportunity to improve your "life score"!

Our primary mission is to change faces in the game and minds in the community...

Combine this with most every golfer's desire to look good on, and off, the course...thus, the GIR Gear brand was born!

HBCU Golf Challenge

The GIR Gear HBCU Golf Challenge is a vehicle to help raise scholarship funding to current and prospective HBCU students. We stand on the backs of our golf legends who endured "uneven fairways" and played "from the rough" in so many ways so people of color could "get on the green in regulation"...a life metaphor.
